WOW!
This was a very good reunion. Friday night found Babes full of
Tigers and started a
weekend of new memories. But at this point in life even some of my
old antics were
new to me. It is wonderful to relive those pleasant days of our
youth, when everything
seemed so simple. Our largest problems were small and we felt safe
at good old
BHHS, we have truly been blessed. We should continue meeting on
the Friday before
the reunion at Babes, this allows those who can’t attend on
Saturday to still be a part
of things. Those with the energy, Allen comes to mind, can party
two nights and
solidify even more friendships. Saturday at the golf course was a
gorgeous day and
found every golfer shooting par for the day. This was made
possible by a unique
handicap system that was applied later that night. Saturday night
was fantastic for
many reasons. The air conditioner was working. The decorations
were delightful. The
women were gorgeous. The men were there. The drinks flowed rapidly
and the
smiles were numerous. The entertainment was the best we have ever
had. At a single
reunion we had, 3 musicians playing 31 instruments. The Beatles,
Tina Turner, and
the Blues Brothers also made cameo appearances. I think Tina has
aged a little, but
she hasn’t slowed a bit. There are many people to thank – Cathy
and Trish led the
charge for the band and seemed in fatigable in their efforts. As
always Cindy handled
the finance and worked tirelessly. Pat, Belinda, Larry and many
others were always
there to help. Thanks to John for securing Babes for Friday’s
soiree. Thanks to all the
veterans for the sacrifices they have made and the dangers they
endured for each of
us. Thanks to all who made their first reunion with us. Thanks Ed,
all the way from
Panama – wow. Now, if Ed can come from Panama can’t we all make
the next one?
Thanks to the class of 1968 for joining the class of 1967 in
making this the finest
reunion yet. Thanks to you all for the smiles and the memories!
